Research interests
My research is focused on quantum-chemical investigations of chemical reactions, molecular interactions and properties of chemical species involved in fields of astrochemistry, planetary chemistry and prebiotic chemistry. These investigations include a wide range of molecular species from small inorganic molecules to biomacromolecules like nucleic acids. The applied methods involve ab initio quantum-chemical methods, DFT methods and molecular mechanical force-fields. Currently, I am a research fellow in the “Exo-planetary Cloudy Atmospheres and Stellar High energy (Exo-CASH)” PRIN project and studying sulfur-containing species spectroscopically detected in atmospheres of exoplanets. My role is to investigate possible chemical pathways leading to observable amounts of these species in exoplanets’ atmospheres at specific physical conditions.
