Research interests

He is expert in colloidal nanocrystal (NC) synthesis and characterization. He has strong background in the application of photoactive NCs in degradation of organic/inorganic pollutants in water and gas matrices and in the preparation and characterization of NC-based self-cleaning coatings. He is also interested in NC incorporation in polymer matrices, application in optoelectronic, self-assembly and nanomedicine. He has been involved in several EU and Italian projects. He is the scientific director of research contracts with multinational companies. He is member of the editorial board of several peer reviewed scientif journals. He has co-authored over 150 scientific articles, including 142 ISI articles (130 JCR publications and 5 patents).
