Research interests

Paola’s research interests are mainly focused on Green Chemistry. She designs, prepares, and characterizes systems based on pigments, photosynthetic and not, agri-food wastes, natural and synthetic polymers for biomedical, cosmetic, and food processing applications. She has expertise in developing eco-friendly methods, at high TRL, for the treatment of wastewater containing textile dyes and Emerging Pollutants (Life Projects). She is also an expert in using calorimetric and thermal analysis techniques for the study of materials and complex systems. Paola has a long tradition of collaborating with different grade schools (workshops, seminars, school & work projects, etc) to facilitate understanding of chemistry and spread scientific culture.
