Research interests

Massimo’s scientific interests focus on the understanding and exploitation of biological processes for the sustainable development of society. Massimo has in fact been involved in photosynthesis research for over two decades. He began to be interested in molecular mechanisms in photosynthesis to arrive to its technological applications in environmental protection, energy production and carbon dioxide capture. He also carries out basic physical chemistry research in the field of enzymes. He is involved in numerous scientific dissemination activities. He authored the book “The power of trees: how photosynthesis helps the planet”.
