Maria Cristina Righetti
Senior Researcher - Pisa
Research interests
Maria Cristina’s research activity has always been focused mainly on the thermodynamic properties of polymeric and biopolymeric systems, with the aim to interpret their macroscopic physical properties. She has dealt with thermal, volumetric, morphological, mechanical and viscoelastic characterization of polymers and biopolymers, copolymers, polymeric blends, composites and nanocomposites. Her latest interest is the study of the properties of nanometric interphases in polymeric and biopolymeric systems, with the aim to obtain more detailed and accurate interpretation and prediction of their macroscopic properties.
Since 2021 she is included in the World’s Top 2% Most-cited Scientists list, released by Stanford University in collaboration with Scopus (Elsevier).
