Research interests

Chiara’s research interest consists of design, synthesis, and characterization of nanostructures for applications and fundamental studies. In general, she deals with the synthesis of colloidal inorganic nanoparticles with control on shape, size, and crystalline phase, of their functionalization by means of capping exchange approaches, incorporation in functional polymers, immobilization onto surfaces by means of self-assembly procedures, combination with graphene derivatives and with the chemical physical characterization of the achieved nanostructures for optoelectronics, environmental applications, and biomedicine. She is Editor of the Special Issue ‘Graphene-Based Nanocomposites for Advanced Applications” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/molecules/special_issues/Graphene_Nanocomposites_Application_31 July 2023).
