Research interests
Her scientific activity is focused on materials chemistry, aiming at the synthesis of colloidal nanoparticles and nanocrystals, their post-synthesis processing by surface functionalization, immobilization and substrate deposition and the fabrication of nanocomposites through their incorporation in matrices (polymers, epoxy resist, sol-gel and ionic liquids). Recently, she is involved in the solvothermal synthesis of fluorescent carbon nanoparticles (C-dots) for optoelectronic, sensors, and biomedical field-related applications. Her expertise includes materials’ characterization techniques, such as absorption and steady-state and time-resolved emission optical spectroscopy, and optical, atomic, and electronic microscopy.
