\u00e8 quello di sviluppare nuovi metodi\/dispositivi di studio, diagnosi e cura delle patologie oculari attraverso l\u2019interazione multidisciplinare e traslazionale di ricercatori afferenti a diverse discipline scientifiche come oftalmologia, biologia, ingegneria e fisica.\u00a0<\/div><div>Le attivit\u00e0 principali attivit\u00e0 che si conducono, grazie alla collaborazioni di laboratori nazionali ed internazionali sia sperimentali che clinici, sono:\u00a0<\/div><ul><li>studi sperimentali, pre-clinici e clinici delle propriet\u00e0 biomeccaniche e ottiche di tessuti corneali \u00a0normali, patologici e sottoposti a trattamenti chirurgici e\/o farmacologici innovativi;\u00a0<\/li><li>caratterizzazione non invasiva (microscopio a polarizzazione, microscopie STM, microscopie confocale e multifotone) per la rilevazione delle propriet\u00e0 biofisiche, strutturali, morfologiche e biomeccaniche di tessuti oculari;<\/li><li>studi sperimentali sulla struttura, dinamica e funzione della retina su pazienti con oftalmoscopio ad ottica adattiva;<\/li><li>studio ed implementazione di metodi matematici\/ingegneristici per l\u2019elaborazione dei segnali\/immagini ottenuti al fine di estrarre modelli\/metriche in grado di rilevare le variazioni morfologiche\/strutturali dei tessuti dovute o ad evoluzioni di malattie degenerative dei tessuti o all\u2019utilizzo di nuovi farmaci e\/o trattamenti;<\/li><li>studio e sviluppo di apparati elettro-ottici sperimentali secondo normativa ISO 13485 sui dispositivi medici<\/li><li>studio e applicazione dei sistemi informatici intelligenti al fine di sviluppare nuovi approcci e strumenti innovativi per la comprensione dei fenomeni biologici attraverso l&#8217;applicazione del deep learning in ambito
