Sede Secondaria di Pisa che opera nella chimica dei materiali biopolimerici e svolge la propria attivit\u00e0 di ricerca nella progettazione, preparazione e caratterizzazione di materiali multifasici e\/o funzionali, con composizione e struttura modulabile.<\/p><p>Il gruppo \u00e8 specializzato nello sviluppo e nell\u2019applicazione di varie metodologie di sintesi e tecnologie preparative utilizzando biopolimeri biobased o biodegradabili, materiali biogenici da fonti rinnovabili, e\/o prodotti e molecole di scarto del settore manifatturiero o agro-alimentare (come legumi, pomodori, patate, lana). I materiali innovativi sono progettati per avere propriet\u00e0 finali modulate per l\u2019applicazione in settori differenti grazie alla azione sulla natura chimica, composizione. I materiali sono caratterizzati mediante tecniche chimiche, spettroscopiche, morfologiche, termiche e meccaniche, e quando richiesto dall\u2019applicazione, se ne studia i fenomeni di rilascio.<\/p><p>Recentemente le attivit\u00e0 si sono ampliate a studi sul comportamento degradativo di tali materiali in diversi ecosistemi (suolo, acqua, mare e spiaggia) e in particolare con studi di invecchiamento di pellets, degradazione e\/o assorbimento di inquinanti in ambienti
