The scientific interests, both of a fundamental and applicative nature, are aimed at the study of &#8220;<em>soft matter<\/em>&#8220;, disordered systems, composite and nanostructured materials, biomimetic systems, &#8220;<em>plasmon-enhanced<\/em>&#8221; nanospectroscopy, optical trapping and manipulation, supramolecular architectures. IPCF is also involved in the development of innovative methodologies and inter- and multi-disciplinary applications in fields such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipcf.cnr.it\/it\/ipcf-pillars\/energy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>energy<\/strong><\/a> (solar cells), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipcf.cnr.it\/it\/ipcf-pillars\/life-science\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>life sciences<\/strong><\/a> (nanomedicine and precision medicine), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipcf.cnr.it\/it\/ipcf-pillars\/environment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>environment<\/strong><\/a> (sensors, environmental clean-up) and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipcf.cnr.it\/it\/ipcf-pillars\/cultural-heritage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">cultural heritage<\/a><\/strong>. More specifically the activities include:<\/p><ul><li>the study of self-organization, surface interactions, relaxation, transport;<\/li><li>the design, construction, study and characterization of materials of different degrees of complexity;<\/li><li>the development of <a title=\"Teoria e Modellizzazione Computazionale\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ipcf.cnr.it\/it\/ipcf-pillars\/theory-and-computational-modelling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><strong>theoretical-computational models and techniques<\/strong><\/a>;<\/li><li>the development of new experimental methodologies, the design and construction of innovative instruments, also for
