Ma solo di recente queste domande sono diventate oggetto di importanti indagini scientifiche basate su una forte interdisciplinariet\u00e0. L'evoluzione chimica della Terra e la successiva origine delle prime strutture viventi sono tra le questioni pi\u00f9 affascinanti e controverse della scienza contemporanea. Esistono molte proposte per l'abiogenesi delle molecole fondamentali alla base della vita cos\u00ec come la conosciamo, che sono supportate da una pletora di dati empirici sia di natura esogena (polvere spaziale, meteoriti e comete) sia di natura endogena (camini idrotermali, atmosfera e stagni caldi).
