1-year Research Fellowship focused on ‘Preparation and characterization of microbial bioelectrochemical systems for the treatment of real waste solutions containing organic contaminants and the generation of biocurrent. The biohybrid device to be developed targets ammonia production using intact bacterial cells immobilized on modified electrodes’ within the Research Program ‘Towards zero impact agriculture: bio-nano architectures for ammonia recovery’ SAC.AD002.215/Physico-chemical sciences and technologies of innovative materials. Subproject 005.

  • Requirements: Bacteria culture of heterotrophic and photoheterotrophic species – Preparation of microbial electrodes by diverse approaches of mediation of extracellular electron transfer – characterization of the microbial electrochemical systems developed using electrochemical techniques (Cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) and by spectroscopy (UV-Vis-NIR absorption, FTIR)
